A summary box on Page 1A of yesterday's editions of The Sun incorrectly described a sales tax increase that Gov. Martin O'Malley said could raise $600 million to $700 million in additional revenue. The governor was referring to a theoretical 1-percentage-point, or 20 percent, increase in the state's 5 percent sales tax.

An article in yesterday's Maryland section incorrectly identified the neighborhood in which an attempted abduction of a 29-year-old Johns Hopkins graduate student took place. The article also misstated the number of suspects involved. The crime took place at the edge of Charles Village near Wyman Park, and two men are believed to have been involved in the abduction attempt.

The Sun regrets the errors.
