The Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Emergency Department will shift operations to the ED addition during the next phase of construction, which began Wednesday.
The ED addition is on the ground floor of the patient tower next to the original ED. The entrance moves to the front of the patient tower, where a parking lot will open.
Automobile entry to the ED will not change. Drivers will continue to use the hospital's MacPhail Road entrance and follow the signs to the parking lot.
During construction, the original ED will be closed for renovations. When these renovations are completed in January, the expanded ED will operate from the addition and the original renovated spaces.
For questions regarding the new entrance to the ED, call the Hospital Construction telephone line at 443-843-7700 and leave a message.
