An 8-year-old boy riding a bicycle was injured in a hit-and-run accident yesterday in Southwest Baltimore, police said.

The boy, who was hit shortly before 2:30 p.m. yesterday, was taken to the Johns Hopkins Hospital's Children's Center for treatment of a minor head injury, police said.

The accident occurred in the 400 block of S. Brunswick St. in the Mill Hill neighborhood, according to Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman. Moses said the Police Department's accident investigation unit was handling the investigation.

The boy was found bleeding from his nose and mouth, police said.

The driver's side mirror of a car possibly involved in the collision was damaged, according to police. The driver of the vehicle was apparently uninjured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the department's Traffic Investigation Section at 410-396-2606.
