Auction postponed for church property
The foreclosure auction scheduled Thursday for an industrial property owned by a West Baltimore church destroyed by fire this month has been postponed, according to the auction firm's Web site.
The First Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church on West Saratoga Street was left in ruins July 10 by a five-alarm fire caused by lightning, the city Fire Department concluded. The church had been fending off multiple foreclosure suits because of a delinquent water bill and an alleged mortgage default, court records show.
A new date has not been set for the auction, to be held at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor, according to Atlantic Asset Management Group Inc.

Suspect charged in fatal shooting
A Glen Burnie man walked up to a group of people outside an apartment complex early yesterday, fired a shot that hit a man, then shot the victim again as he was lying on the ground, killing him, Annapolis police said.
The suspect, Tyrone C. Williams, 39, was arrested about 7 a.m., about four hours after the killing of Cole J. Collins, 24, of Glen Burnie.
Police said several witnesses helped them identify Williams. They said Williams approached the group and said he was seeking revenge after a cousin of his was beaten up.
Williams was arrested as he walked along Interstate 97 near U.S. 50. He was charged with first- and second-degree murder, assault and handgun crimes.
The shooting was the fifth homicide in Annapolis this year.
