Highlands School to discuss ADHD
The Highlands School will hold a parent workshop, "An Overview of ADHD," from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at 708 Highland Road in Street.
Martha Schumacher, a Parent-to-Parent volunteer with CHADD, will be the guest speaker.
Parents of all children who have been diagnosed with any type of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are encouraged to attend.
The workshop is open to the public, but reservations are required.

Donations sought for time capsule
Harford Community College Alumni and Friends Association and the Student Government Association are seeking donations for a time capsule for the college's 50th anniversary.
Acceptable items include college memorabilia or items thought to be representative of the lifestyle of HCC students and the community.
The deadline to donate is Aug. 15.

Edgewood High sets class reunion
The Edgewood High School Class of 1977 will hold its 30-year reunion the weekend of Aug. 17-19.
The weekend starts with an evening mixer Aug. 17 at the Mountain Branch Grille on Route 152 in Joppa.
The main event will be from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 18, also at the Mountain Branch Grille.
A picnic will be held Aug. 19 at Friends Park in Forest Hill.
All 1977 graduates and teachers are invited, as are members of the classes of 1976 and 1978.

N. Harford graduate wins scholarship
Jacob Branscome, a recent graduate of North Harford High School, has been awarded the 12th annual Richard Morris Scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship is given to a Harford County high school student who plans to major in engineering or architecture.
Branscome was a member of the National Honor Society and had a 3.74 grade point average. He plans to attend the University of Delaware's College of Engineering in the fall and major in mechanical engineering.
Grumman awards $10,000 scholarship
Kelly M. Davis, a recent graduate of Fallston High school, received a $10,000 scholarship from Northrop Grumman Corp.
Davis was ranked first in her class. She took Advanced Placement classes and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.
She completed an internship at Aberdeen Proving Ground on the Coating and Conversion Team. During the program, she tested paints supplied by vendors to determine which ones best matched the camouflage requirements for armored vehicles.
Davis plans to major in engineering or computer science at the University of Maryland, College Park.
