Baltimore

Northeastern

Standoff -- After a three-hour standoff yesterday with a man who threatened to kill himself, police entered a house in the 3100 block of Gibbons Ave. in Northeast Baltimore about 10:15 p.m. and found the man dead from a self-inflicted bullet wound. The man's name was not released. About 7 p.m., the man's wife called police and said her husband was suicidal. She fled the house unhurt. During the standoff, the man fired shots in the house but not at police, who surrounded the dwelling and set up a command post. District detectives were investigating the incident.

Southeastern

Theft -- A radio valued at $200 was stolen Saturday from a 1996 Honda Prelude parked in the 600 block of S. Washington St.

Western

Shooting -- Police were seeking whoever fired several shots from a passing car at four young men sitting on the front steps of a house in the 2400 block of Warwick Ave. about 2:20 a.m. Thursday, hitting one of them in the arm. The 20-year-old victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Anyone knowing the identity of the gunman or the other occupants of the vehicle is asked to call the district's detective unit at 410-396-2477.

Stabbing -- Four teenage males were arguing over the ownership of a hat in the 900 block of N. Dukeland St. about 10 p.m. Saturday when one pulled out a knife and stabbed a boy, 16, in the stomach. The victim was treated at the pediatric intensive care unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital. No arrest had been made.

Burglary -- Someone broke into Greater Faith Church in the 1600 block of W. Lafayette Ave. between Friday night and early Saturday through a rear first-floor window and stole an air conditioner and a radio. The property was valued at $330.

Stolen vehicle -- Police were seeking a woman who stole a man's car early Saturday after entering his home to use the bathroom. About 11:30 p.m. Friday, a man who lives in the 600 block of N. Pulaski St. allowed the woman, believed to be in her mid-40s or early 50s, into his home to use the bathroom. After she left about 12:10 a.m. Saturday, the man noticed his keys were missing. Upon looking outside, he noticed his red 1997 Chevrolet Malibu with unknown tags was also missing.

Burglary -- A flat-screen TV, a DVD player, a snowball-making machine and four cartons of cigarettes were stolen over the weekend from a grocery store in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. by someone who broke in through the front door.

Assault -- A woman, 22, forced her way into a house in the 1000 block of Harlem Ave. about 4 a.m. Saturday seeking her ex-boyfriend and struck another woman, 18, over the head several times with a shoe. The victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center and released. The assailant was being sought.

Stolen vehicle -- Police were seeking a pregnant woman who asked a man for a ride in the 200 block of Warwick Ave. about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, then stole his pickup when the man stopped in the 700 block of N. Fulton Ave. to help her get out of the truck. The pickup, a burgundy 2004 Ford, has tags 338M107.

Southern

Burglary -- Between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday, someone broke into Rafter's Bar in the 600 block of E. Fort Ave. through a second-floor door and removed an undisclosed sum of money from a safe.

Assault/arrest -- A man, 43, of the 3700 block of Brooklyn Ave. was arrested early Saturday and charged with assaulting another male resident of the house with a chair. The victim suffered minor injuries. Charged with aggravated assault and held at Central Booking and Intake Center was Maurice Harris.

Baltimore County

Towson

Armed robbery -- Police were seeking two men, one armed with a handgun, who assaulted a man, 29, about 4 a.m. Thursday as he walked along Hillsway Avenue near Solar Circle. They robbed him of his cell phone and $5.

Burglary -- Someone entered an apartment in the 1300 block of Taylor Ave. on Friday night after using a lawn chair to break a window and stole 60 to 70 DVDs.

Arson -- After someone set fire to shrubbery in the first block of Willow Ave. about 7 p.m. Thursday, the flames spread to the rear of an office building in the nearby 200 block of W. Pennsylvania Ave., causing minor damage to the building. Anyone with information is asked to call the precinct at 410-887-2361.

Burglary -- Tires and rims - all valued at $500 - were stolen last week from a fenced-in area at Classic Car Shop in the 1400 block of Shoemaker Road.

Cockeysville

Burglary -- Someone broke into a house in the 17400 block of Masemore Road through a rear door between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and stole a 42-inch TV valued at more than $2,000.

Woodlawn

Burglary -- A Smith & Wesson 9 mm semiautomatic handgun valued at nearly $1,000 was stolen between Thursday and Friday from a house in the 6200 block of Robin Hill Road. There were no signs of forced entry.

Essex

Vandalism -- Police were seeking the person or persons who spray-painted graffiti onto the aluminum siding of a house in the 1600 block of Williams Ave. The occupant discovered the vandalism early Saturday. Anyone with information is urged to call the precinct at 410-887-0220.
