Week honors parole workers
The state will honor its parole and probation employees this week as part of National Probation, Parole and Community Supervision Week, which begins today.
"They help turn lives around, and actually turn many people from offenders into tax-paying citizens who've found jobs and broken addictions," Judith Sachwald, director of the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation, said in a statement.
The state agency supervises more than 67,000 people from 48 offices in Maryland.
