Library throws parties for 'Harry Potter' fans

Calling all Harry Potter fans.

Carroll County Public Library is holding Harry Potter parties Friday at four branches and the Carroll Arts center.

Fans are invited to come dressed as their favorite character, have cake and refreshments, and watch a Harry Potter movie.

At midnight, copies of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, may be checked out.

The Carroll Arts Center will show Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at 8:30 p.m. Friday at 91 W. Main St., Westminster. Free tickets are required that may be picked up at the theater or the Westminster library, 50 E. Main St.

Branch parties will be held Friday as follows: 8 p.m. at Eldersburg, 6400 West Hemlock Drive; 8:30 p.m. at Mount Airy, 705 Ridge Ave.; 8:30 p.m. at Taneytown, 10 Grand Drive; and 8:45 p.m. at North Carroll, 2255 Hanover Pike, Greenmount.
