5 Things I Have To Have Now

The iPhone may have whipped everyone into a frenzy, but Mark Komisky remains calm and focused. "I've seen the phone and ... certainly some of the tech innovations are worthy of the hype," says Komisky, 42, who covets the phone but points out that future versions will get even better. Especially if Apple ends up using software created by Baltimore-based tech firm Bluefire Security Technologies, co-founded by Komisky in 2001. The company focuses on security for mobile devices, but most of its work has been with enterprise and government sectors, not consumers. "[Manufacturers] basically bake it into the phone and it runs in the background. ... You don't know it's protecting you 24/7." But Bluefire is trying to broaden its reach. "They [Apple] are one of our targets. We'll be talking with them in next several months," says Komisky, who lives in Monkton with his wife, Kim Klein, and 3 1/2 -year-old son Nicholas.

1 -- iPhone "It will allow me to consolidate all of my music and my phone. ... As I travel, either for business or fun, it's nice to have everything in one device."

2 -- Palm Foleo "Just came out about a month ago. The Foleo is meant to be an Internet and e-mail device really directed at business. It's like a really, really small notebook computer."

3 -- Gelato from Italy "I'm a big fan, but not just any gelato. A favorite place is in Varenna, Italy - a little town on Lake Como. It's spectacularly beautiful. ... I'm a big fan of lemon and stracciatella, or chocolate chip.

4 -- New set of juggling clubs "Because I juggle and my son Nicholas loves it when I try these things. I like to show him that I can be almost as good as the guys in the circus."

5 -- Quiet dinner at the Chameleon Cafe " ... with my wife. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore."
