'CROC WEEK'

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is dedicating an entire week to the scary, prehistoric-looking creatures that lurk in murky waters -- crocodiles. Beginning on Monday, "Croc Week" will give zoo visitors the opportunity to see training sessions with the zoo's two slender-snouted crocodiles, learn more about crocodiles from experts, meet a Chinese alligator and take part in educational activities. A gala will be held 5 p.m.-9 p.m. July 21 featuring National Geographic's Brady Barr, a live and silent auction and lots of food.

"Croc Week" runs 10 a.m.-4 p.m. daily Monday-July 21 at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, Druid Hill Park. All activities besides the gala are free with general zoo admission, which is $15 for ages 12-64, $12 for those 65 and older, $10 for ages 2-11 and free for those younger than 2. The gala is $30 for adults, $20 for ages 4-11 and free for children 3 and younger. Call 410-366-LION or go to maryland zoo.org.
