Sports channels are changing on Comcast cable systems in Baltimore city and Baltimore and Harford counties today.
The Orioles' and Washington Nationals' home, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, moves to Channel 4 (MASN2 remains at Channel 17).
Basic cable customers no longer will be able to receive ESPNews and ESPN Classic, which are shifting to channels 261 and 265, respectively. Viewers will need digital service - Digital Classic in Baltimore and Harford counties and Digital Plus in Baltimore city - to see those two ESPN channels.
The NFL Network becomes part of the digital Sports Tier - grouped with NBA, college sports, horse racing and soccer channels - and Comcast is offering this service at a promotional rate of $1.99, though that eventually will increase by $3.
