A ghostly overhaul

The Haunted Mansion at Disney's Magic Kingdom is closed for the summer. The attraction closed for renovations June 6, according to the Orlando Sentinel, and is not scheduled to reopen until mid-September. During that time, ride designers plan to add new ghosts and work to enhance the effects of the attraction with technology updates. This is the first major overhaul of the ride. Designers said they hope to update the ride without losing its traditional features or altering its story. The Haunted Mansion's update follows the revisions to other Magic Kingdom rides, including the Pirates of the Caribbean and It's a Small World.

GUIDES

For the on-the-'Go' male

From the folks who produce Outside magazine comes Go, a quarterly on the pleasures and pursuits of the impossibly rich male. In the premiere issue, readers go on a motorcycle trek through Portuguese wine country and golf with Greg Norman. The tone: self-aware and unapologetically moneyed. "If you have the time to do it yourself, you're probably not a client of ours," says a rep in an article on high-end concierges. But the writing is strong, the topics diverse. It's a fine in-flight read, even if you're not on your own Gulfstream IV. $5.95 on newsstands; one-year subscription, $18; 800-678-1131, outsidego.com.
