The Miller branch library, 9421 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, will offer "Creative Voices: Writing Workshops -- Poetry," a chance to explore a variety of forms of writing in a low-pressure environment, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
Caroline Kessler, a contributor to "Teen 'Zine," will share strategies to stimulate creative thinking and writing.

"Twilight Time," a chance for young people ages 11 to 17 to share books and refreshments in the library's courtyard, will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and July 25. Registration is not needed.

Korean film festival set for July 23-26
The Miller branch library will present "On Screen: Korean Film Festival," award-winning films, at 6:45 p.m. July 23-26.
Shin Dong Kim, a visiting professor of communications at American University, will lead a discussion after each screenings, offering perspective on each young director's work and ideology.
The films have English subtitles.

Teens to discuss 'Green Gables'
The Teen Book Club at the Elkridge library will discuss Anne of Green Gables, by L.M. Montgomery, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 17.

"Animation Basics," for those ages 11 to 17, will be offered from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 16 at the Elkridge library. All materials will be provided. Registration is required.

Baseball school -- Centennial High School Boosters will hold the second session of Eagle Baseball School, a summer camp program for boys ages 7 to 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 3. The camp, to be directed by Centennial's boys varsity baseball coach Denis Ahearn, will offer instruction and drills in throwing, hitting, fielding, base running, catching and strategy. Area players and coaches will give lectures and demonstrations. The emphasis will be on fundamentals, sportsmanship and fun. The program includes contests, treats, a report card and certificates.
