Anne Harrison, 41

Anne Fenton Harrison, a high school guidance counselor, ended her life Friday. Family members said she struggled for years with chronic pain originating from a long-term skin disorder. She was 41.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Roland Park, she attended the Calvert School and was a 1984 graduate of Garrison Forest School. She made her debut at the Bachelors Cotillon. She earned a bachelor's degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y., and a master's degree in high school guidance counseling from Loyola College.

Family members said she was known for her love of children. She began her career working with pediatric AIDS patients at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and later became a guidance counselor at Seton Keough High School and the Catholic High School.

She belonged to the Elkridge Club.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 8 at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 740 N. Calvert St.

Survivors include her parents, Robert B. Harrison III and Katharine S. Harrison; a brother, R. Barker Harrison; a niece, Caroline Grace Harrison, all of Baltimore; an aunt, Anne S. Paxson of Harvard, Mass.; and an uncle, William R. Harrison of West Hartford, Conn.
