Fun on the farm

The lowdown -- Head to the farm and see restored antique agriculture equipment - including antique horse pulls, tractors and steam engines - on display and in action at the Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Show today-Sunday. Other activities include equipment demonstrations, blacksmithing and train rides. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided.

If you go -- The agriculture show is noon-10 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. tomorrow-Sunday at the Tuckahoe Showgrounds, five miles north of Easton on Route 50, between mileposts 58 and 59. Tickets are $6 for adults; free for ages 12 and younger. Call 410-822-9868 or go to tuckahoesteam.org.

Water and rails

The lowdown -- Celebrate the transportation history of Western Maryland tomorrow and Saturday at the CanalFest/RailFest. Take the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad Excursion or Scenic Caboose Ride, visit an antique car show and take a Canal Boat Replica Tour while at the festival and then listen to music from the famous Motown band the Contours and rhythm and blues band Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs at the Saturday night concert beginning at 8.

Volleyball tour

The lowdown -- See professional volleyball players face off against each other this weekend when the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball Tour comes to the Inner Harbor's Rash Field. This is the first of four stops for the tour, which features live music and refreshments.

The lowdown -- Start getting into the Christmas spirit a few months early when the Carroll County Farmers' Market celebrates Christmas in July this Saturday. Shop for holiday decorations and art as well as home-baked goods, handmade crafts, local produce and gourmet food.
