Bell, Olson await call

The Baltimore Sun

The Orioles still haven't decided whether Rob Bell or Garrett Olson will take Steve Trachsel's turn tomorrow.

Team officials wanted to see what happened last night before announcing their choice. Olson remains a possibility, but if last night's game was a factor, that would seem to indicate Bell is the front-runner, as long as he wasn't needed in long relief.

Or maybe I'm not reading clearly between the lines.

For those of you asking about two injured pitchers, Adam Loewen is done for the year after having a screw inserted in his left elbow, but he's expected to be ready for spring training. And Hayden Penn could return to the mound next month after having a bone chip removed from his right elbow.

Farewell to Mike Hargrove, one of my all-time favorites. I have no idea how a guy walks away from a team that's won eight games in a row and is 12 above .500, but he's doing it. I just hope the reason he stated, that he's basically lost his passion for the game, is the truth. I feared something much worse when I first heard he was resigning.
