Baltimore police arrested a 17-year-old Cherry Hill resident Monday in last week's shooting of a passenger on a light rail train.

Jyreece Simmons of the 900 block of Coppin Court was charged with attempted first- and second- degree murder, armed robbery, theft and other offenses. Police are also seeking a man they believe was Simmons' accomplice, Gary Hayden of the 100 block of S. Clinton St.

Police said that both men attacked a 23-year-old Halethorpe man and a friend about 10:45 p.m. on a light rail train near the Westport station. Police said the victims were pistol-whipped, and one was shot in the chest.
