Chevelle heaven

The lowdown -- Rev up your engines and hit the road for the largest gathering of 1964-1972 Chevelles and El Caminos on the East Coast. The annual Mid-Atlantic Chevelle Show is this Saturday and Sunday at North East Community Park.

Vintage blues

The lowdown -- Enjoy a weekend of wine tasting and live blues entertainment at the Swingin' Blues Wine Festival at Linganore Winecellars. Taste 19 different wines, take a guided tour of the winery and listen to music from the Kelly Bell Band and the Night Hawks at the festival Saturday and Sunday.

History lesson

The lowdown -- Travel back in time to June 29, 1863, the day of the Civil War's Battle of Westminster, "Corbit's Charge," and experience what that day was like 144 years ago at the fourth annual Corbit's Charge Commemorative Weekend. See a Civil War living history encampment with living historians dressed in authentic period dress, cannon firing exhibitions, artillery and medical demonstrations and a guided walking tour of the battle site along with a brass band concert and a re-enactor parade.
