Three residents of New York City have been arrested in connection with the attempted kidnapping of an 18-year-old woman in Edgewood, Harford County sheriff's deputies said.

Carl Lawrence Clerk, 22, Novell Teresa Dolly, 18, and Vanessa Grinvalski, 16, all of the Bronx, are being held at the Harford County Detention Center. Clerk faces kidnapping and false imprisonment charges, while Dolly and Grinvalski were charged with kidnapping and making a false statement, said Sgt. Christina R. Presberry, spokeswoman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Grinvalski has been charged as an adult.

About 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, an Edgewood woman alerted deputies that a friend was being held by her boyfriend and would be forced to go to New York, Presberry said. The woman provided an address and deputies found the victim and Clerk at a house in the 500 block of Crownwood Court.

The victim had agreed to go to New York after a man and two female accomplices threatened to harm her and her family, Presberry said. The victim was not injured in the incident.
