Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Monday by appointment only

Imagine slipping between silky 1,000-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, snuggling under a fluffy down duvet or pampering yourself at home with soaps and lotions you usually would find in a spa.

Phina's, which opened in February in Federal Hill, aims to make those dreams a reality.

"We have things that make your home like a spa environment," says Carla Wing, the store's retail marketing director.

The store is the inspiration of owner Josephine Bravo, who noted that for all its upscale houses, Baltimore lacked a place for high-end linens, Wing says.

Located in what was once an antiques store, Phina's offers plush towels, mohair throws, candles, pillows and even a line of baby-care products. Yet what you see in the tiny store is just a fraction of what's available. Wing says many more items can be ordered, and that soon the second floor of the store will be devoted to books and catalogs for those wanting to do so.

"Business has been coming along," said Wing, noting that Phina's is working with interior designers and bed and breakfast establishments, looking to furnish their rooms. Prices range from a few dollars for gift soaps to nearly $1,000 for some high-end sheet sets.
