The lowdown -- Theatre Project veterans Daniel Stein and Touchstone Theatre of Bethlehem, Pa., return to the Preston Street venue beginning tonight with A Comic Strip. Created collaboratively and directed by Stein, this grown-up, dark comedy focuses on a cartoonist whose life is about to crumble when characters from his favorite boyhood comic strip take him on a perilous, eye-opening journey.

Eastern Shore music fest
The lowdown -- If you're looking for interesting and rewarding sounds, the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival has just the ticket. Entering its 21st year this weekend, the festival, which runs through June 17 at a variety of venues, brings together fine players from throughout the country and presents them in highly imaginative programs. Haydn will provide the foundation for this year's festival, with lots contrasting repertoire, from a world premiere by Gerald Cohen tomorrow night to a little-known sonata for three cellos by eminent musicologist Donald Francis Tovey on Saturday.
If you go -- The opening concert is at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Avalon Theatre, 40 E. Dover St. in Easton. Tickets are $10 to $35. There will be a concert and picnic buffet at 4 p.m. Saturday at Aspen Institute, 201 Wye Woods Way, Queenstown. Tickets are $85.
