AACC registration at senior centers
Anne Arundel Community College began summer registration Friday at all county senior centers.
The Annapolis, Pasadena, Pascal and O'Malley senior centers will also offer the pilot STARS program. Students who have previously taken a class through the college, and who can pay using a major credit card, can register using a touch-tone phone.
Students will also be able to register for classes in-person at the center.
A list of classes is posted online and at the centers.
Classes will begin the week of July 9.
Centers offering free hearing test
Seniors are invited to receive a free auditory screening by an audiologist at one of the following senior centers:
O'Malley Senior Activity Center - first Thursday of each month. Appointments required. 410-222-6227.
Annapolis Senior Activity Center - first Friday of each month from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 410-222-1818.
Pascal Senior Activity Center - second Friday of each month. Appointments required. 410-222-6680.
Volunteers sought for senior aid
The county Department of Aging and Disabilities is seeking volunteers age 55 and older to aid seniors in the community and other residents.
Programs include tax assistance, nutrition sites, tutors and mentors in schools, as well as administrative support for state and county police.
