Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five

On May 30, 2007, IRENE DAISY WILLIAMS DIXON, 76, of Glen Burnie, at Easton Memorial Hospital from a severe case of pnuemonia. She was born on December 28, 1930 in Ellenton, SC and lived in Maryland for 67 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Dixon Cornwell; her parents Rosie Belle Gosby and George Norman Williams; three brothers, Jesse, Bernard, and Leo Williams; and one sister, Polly Imbrogulio. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Thomas Dixon, Jr.; her brother Fred Williams of Baltimore, her sister Ann Williams Thomas of Linthicum; her three sons Thomas Dixon of Odenton, William Dixon of Glen Burnie and George Dixon and wife Bonnie, of Keymar, her daughter Christine Dixon Puglisi and husband Tony of Stevensville; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Inurment will be at the Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Crownsville on Tuesday, June 5. Family and friends should inquire about a get together afterwards.
