Henderson is a freelance writer based in New York. He writes frequently about design, food, travel and religion. Daamon Speller
Born and raised in Queens, N.Y., Speller is a freelance writer who lives in Montgomery County. During the past 10 years, he has written for Today's Black Woman, Black Men, Upscale and Heart & Soul magazines. He recently signed a book deal. This issue, he writes about a DVD making the rounds at area churches (Page 8).
Dr. Alain Damiba
Damiba, 52, is from Burkina Faso in West Africa, a place where poverty and disease go hand-in-hand. As a public health doctor, he writes a First Person essay about how he returns home to help improve the survival odds of women and their families with health and medical awareness programs, among other things (Page 18).
