Bonnie A. Gehring, a retired Baltimore County physical education teacher, died of cancer Sunday at the Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The Stoneleigh resident was 66.
Born Bonnie Agard in Allentown, Pa., and raised in Wilbraham, Mass., she earned a bachelor's degree in physical education at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
After moving to Maryland in 1965, she taught at Loch Raven Junior High School and was later an administrative assistant in a Towson certified public accountant's office. She retired in 2005.
She was a United Cerebral Palsy of Maryland volunteer.
Mrs. Gehring enjoyed trips to Chincoteague, Va., and was a member of Friends of the Towson Library.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Goucher College's Haebler Memorial Chapel, 1021 Dulaney Valley Road.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 39 years, William Gehring, a retired Towson University education professor; a son, Christopher Howard Gehring of Denver; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Gunn of Oakton, Va.; her mother, Mildred Dowling Agard of Towson; a brother, Irving Agard III of Brookfield, Conn.; a sister, Eileen A. Glickstein of New York City; and a granddaughter.
