A woman charged with fatally shooting a man in March in Baltimore had been free on a suspended 10-year sentence for a manslaughter conviction three years ago, according to city police and court records.

Juanita Robinson, 27, of the 4000 block of Eierman Ave. in Northeast Baltimore was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Andre McBride, 21, who was found slumped in a doorway of a house on Knottwood Court on March 31.

Court records show that in January 2004, Robinson was charged with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing a month earlier of 16-year-old Derrick Colbert during an argument in Northeast Baltimore.

Five months later, according to the court records, Robinson was convicted of manslaughter and given a suspended 10-year sentence. She served approximately six months in jail while awaiting the disposition of her case and then was placed on probation for three years, court records show.
