The Baltimore Sun

Last night's full moon rose over Baltimore at 8:42 p.m. A full moon in May was once called the Milk Moon, or the Planting Moon. We can use both names this month, because Luna will be full again at 9:04 p.m. EDT on May 31. For us, that will qualify as the second full moon in this calendar month - a "Blue Moon." In time zones three hours or more to our east, however, it won't be full until after midnight June 1. Their Blue Moon's in June.
