Bel Air bank robbery is second holdup in the past 10 days

A Bel Air bank was robbed Thursday, the second hold-up in the town within 10 days, town police said.

In both cases, the robber presented a note to the teller and demanded cash without displaying any type of weapon, police said.

The Harford National Bank in the 500 block of Marketplace Drive was robbed about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police said. The robber's description - a man about 6 feet tall with a medium build, between 30 to 40 years old - matched that of the man who held up the BB&T; Bank branch on Baltimore Pike on April 16.

"We have nothing ... good as far as witness description, but there are similarities with description and [method]," said Armand G. Dupre, Bel Air's deputy chief of police.

Anyone with information should call the Bel Air Police Department at 410 638-4525.
