Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Shooting -- Donnell Brown, 39, was standing in the 1900 block of McCulloh St. with several other men about 11:15 p.m. Saturday when at least two gunmen stepped from a car and began shooting at the group. Police said Brown was shot in the back and that no other men were hit. The assailants got back into the vehicle and sped away. Brown was driven by a friend to University of Maryland Medical Center and was reported on good condition yesterday.


Arrest -- Gregory Fields, 40, of the 7800 block of Coutros Court in Pasadena was arrested over the weekend in the 800 block of Bethune Road in Cherry Hill on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Fields is charged with shooting Jonathan Burke, 39, in the 6800 block of McClean Blvd. on March 11. He was being held yesterday at Central Booking and Intake Center.


Arrest -- Police arrested Thomas Johnson, 23, at his home in the 5100 block of Queensberry Ave. in Pimlico on Friday on a warrant charging him with committing armed robbery the night before. Johnson is charged with robbing Dabney's Salon in the 5600 block of Reisterstown Road about 10 p.m. Thursday, and using a handgun in the commission of a crime. He was being held at Central Booking and Intake Center.


Burglary -- Someone broke into a house in the 3400 block of Ridgewood Ave. between April 9 and Saturday through a rear basement door and removed a refrigerator, light fixtures and a dishwasher - all valued at nearly $1,200.


Shooting -- A 57-year-old Washington man was about to enter a house in the 300 block of Scott St. about 10:30 p.m. Friday when two men stood in his way. During an exchange of words, one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot the Washingtonian in a hand, shoulder and leg. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where his condition was not available yesterday.

Burglary -- Someone entered Meineke Mufflers in the 800 block of Patapsco Ave. through a front window about 1 a.m. Friday and removed an undisclosed sum of money from a safe and several license plates. The intruder also stole a red- and-white Ford F-150 pickup truck with no tags.

Baltimore County


Bank robbery -- Police and the FBI continued to seek a man who robbed Wachovia Bank in the 11200 block of York Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 3 p.m. Thursday. After the man gave a teller a note demanding money and said he didn't want to harm her, the teller gave him money with a dye pack hidden inside. Before fleeing, the man removed the dye pack and gave it back to the teller. He did not display a weapon. Anyone with information was asked to call the Baltimore office of the FBI at 410-265-8080 or the Cockeysville Precinct at 410-887-1820.


Burglary -- A red Honda XR-100 motorcycle and a blue Yamaha TTR-90 motorcycle - each valued at about $1,000 - were stolen over the weekend from a shed in the back yard of a house in the 8600 block of Richmond Ave.


Assault -- Police were seeking a gunman who fired several shots from a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun at three men in a Lincoln Continental while the vehicle was being driven along Sandalwood Road about 11:15 a.m. yesterday. None of the occupants was struck and police know of no motive for the incident.

Burglary -- Someone broke into an apartment at Oak Grove Apartments in the first block of Oak Grove Road between Saturday night and yesterday morning using a key and stole a money order for $52, three pairs of shoes, a ring and other property.


Armed robbery -- Police were seeking a gunman who entered Kentucky Fried Chicken in the 7100 block of Liberty Road about 3 p.m. Thursday and ordered an employee to give him the contents of a cash register. The gunman fled with an undisclosed sum. Anyone with information was asked to call the precinct at 410-887-1279.
