The Ladies Auxiliary of the Savage Volunteer Fire Company will hold bingo featuring Vera Bradley bags at 7 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall, 8925 Lincoln St., Savage.
Admission is $15 in advance; $17 at the door, if tickets are still available. The price includes 20 games and door prizes; two jackpot games are extra. Doors and the kitchen open at 5 p.m.
Seating is limited; children are welcome when paying admission.
Bird tours planned at Patuxent refuge
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's Patuxent Research Refuge will offer bird tours for ages 16 and older from 8:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. May 2 and 9 at the refuge's North Tract.
Participants will have an opportunity to identify birds in several refuge habitats. Field guides and binoculars are recommended.
Admission is free; donations to the Friends of Patuxent are appreciated. Reservations are required.

Lunch, bingo -- The Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 8097, 7209 Montevideo Road, Jessup, will hold a bingo, lunch and bake sale from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today. Job interview -- The Savage branch library, 9525 Durness Lane, will offer "Success in Style," a program led by Jeanette Kendall on preparing for job interviews and looking your best, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Kendall is founder of the nonprofit organization Success in Style that provides business attire and coaching to disadvantaged women seeking to enter, or re-enter, the workplace. Race, run -- Reservoir High School will hold its Musical Madness 5K and 1K Fun Run on May 12 in the Maple Lawn community in Fulton. Signs will be posted to direct visitors to parking. Multiservice center -- The cooperative center created by local nonprofit organizations to reach residents in the southeast area of the county, now known as the North Laurel-Savage Multiservice Center, is in the Whiskey Bottom Shopping Center, 9105 All Saints Road. The center offers help with housing, food, fuel and utilities and crisis intervention for those in need.
Representatives of the Department of Social Services help residents apply for food stamps, cash assistance and medical assistance.
Family and Children's Services offers counseling, employee assistance, in-home services for elderly and disabled people and a Healthy Families program for first-time parents. Third-party insurance is accepted; uninsured clients pay on a sliding scale.
The Community Action Council offers help with food, eviction prevention, energy assistance and crisis intervention.
Kristin Lilly, FIRN's information and referral counselor, is fluent in Spanish and can assist with medical bills, legal referrals, housing and applications for tax identification numbers, birth certificates and passports. Walk-ins are welcome.
