With five points apiece, Jay Mann (three goals, two assists) and Mike Colonell (four, one) lifted Dulaney to a 7-6 victory over Franklin in Baltimore County boys lacrosse last night, spoiling the Indians' first night game.
Eric Keppeler had three goals and an assist, Spencer Martin had two goals and two assists, and Brad Ruzicka and John Prater scored twice each for the Lions (5-4), who avenged last May's 7-6 loss that ended Dulaney's 73-game county winning streak.
"It was great to get revenge under the lights of their new stadium," said Mann, whose father, Jeff, is Franklin's assistant principal. "Even though my dad pulls for me ... it sort of gives me bragging rights at the dinner table."
The game ended an unusually busy day for Dulaney coach Jake Reed, who had watched his son Travis score five points in the afternoon to lead No. 3 Boys' Latin to an 8-6 victory at second-ranked McDonogh.
"I was able to get here in plenty of time for warm-ups," said Jake Reed, who then hustled to nearby Franklin for yet another family win. "I've been coaching a long time, but this was a first, and both games ended happily for our family."
