Disturbia
Rating -- PG-13
What it's about -- An ill-tempered teen, under house-arrest, starts to suspect his neighbor is a serial killer.
The Kid Attractor Factor -- The hormones, as Shia LaBeouf spies on the oft-bikini- clad Sarah Roemer, and she spies back.
Good lessons/bad lessons -- You aren't a Peeping Tom if she's peeping back, and cops can make your punishment their personal pleasure, should you cross the law.
Violence -- Quite a bit.
Language -- Somewhat clean, considering the violence.
Sex -- The threat of it hangs over our young stars like an ax about to fall.
Drugs -- Alcohol glimpsed at a party.
Parents advisory -- It's a button-pusher, in terms of sex and violence, which is why it was originally R-rated. Take that PG-13 very seriously.
Pathfinder
Rating -- R
What it's about -- A Viking boy is raised among Native Americans and defends them when more Norsemen come to "cleanse" the land for settlement.
The Kid Attractor Factor -- Vikings, Indians, blood and guts.
Good lessons/bad lessons -- Vikings rapacious. Indians good. Hate will eat you up if you let it.
Violence -- Lots and lots and lots and lots.
Language -- Norsk profanity, in subtitles.
Sex -- Romance sans sex.
Drugs -- None.
Parents advisory -- A boys' action film, not that sophisticated but awfully violent, thus the R-rating.
