Seminar planned on starting businesses

Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union and Harford Community College's Small Business Development will offer a free seminar, "Smart Start Your Business," from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 24 at the APGFCU Home Loan Center, 321 S. Main St. in Bel Air.

The program will provide an overview of ways to start a business, the skills and duties of a successful entrepreneur, how to write a strategic business plan and services offered by the SBDC.

A seminar on "Understanding the Home Appraisal Process" will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26 at 321 S. Main St. in Bel Air. Homeowners can learn what their home appraisal report means, how valuations are derived, how to increase their home's value and the differences between home appraisals.

Rotaract Club at CCC chartered

The Rotaract Club of Cecil County at Cecil Community College was recently chartered at Milburn Stone Memorial Theatre.

Rotaract, a Rotary-sponsored service club for men and women ages 18 to 30, focuses on community service, international goodwill and professional leadership and development.

The Rotaract Club of Cecil County at CCC is sponsored by the Elkton Rotary Club and the North East Rotary Club.

The club will hold a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday at Houlihan's, at 500 Center Blvd. in Newark, Del. Proceeds will go toward sending officers to the International Pre-Convention meeting June 15-16 in Salt Lake City.
