Helen Gow, a homemaker and retired farm business manager, died Saturday of heart disease at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. The Columbia resident was 87.

Helen Irene Morgan was born in Philadelphia and raised in Waverly, Pa. She managed a family farm in Lackawanna County, Pa., before moving to Maryland several years ago.

"Her passions were animals, baking and collecting antiques," said her daughter, Penny Gow Zimring of Ellicott City.

Active in the Baptist Church, Mrs. Gow attended Columbia Baptist Fellowship in Columbia and had worked on missionary projects.

Funeral services will held be 10 a.m. tomorrow at Lawrence Young Funeral Home in Clarks Summit, Pa.

In addition to her daughter, survivors include a brother, Floyd Morgan of Clarks Summit, and nieces and nephews. Her husband of 35 years, Harrison Gow, died in 1982.
