Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five

On Saturday, March 31, 2007, Justin Paul Dunlavey, CDR, USNR, (Ret.) of Silver Spring, MD.; beloved husband of the late Margaret McInerney Dunlavey; father of Robert J. Dunlavey, Dennis P. Dunlavey, Anne D. Lane and Thomas J. Dunlavey; grandfather of Patrick, Justin, Eilleen, Mary Ellen, Anna, Daniel, Emmet and Margaret. He died peacefully at Riderwood Village after a long illness surrounded by his family and his devoted caregiver, our dear friend, Lisa Alonso. He was very proud of his 37 years of service in the US Naval Reserve including active duty in the Atlantic and Pacific during World War II. He retired with the rank of Commander. He worked as a patent attorney with the US Department of the Navy, retiring as a Chief Patent Counsel. He was a long time parishioner of St. Camillus Church before moving to Riderwood Village. Relatives and friends may call at COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, 500 University Blvd., West, Silver Spring, MD, Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Road,, Silver Spring, MD, on Wednesday, April 4, at 12 p.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 320 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21298-3149.
