This old stadium: Makeover on deck

The Baltimore Sun

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. -- The Orioles will get on a charter flight and head north tomorrow morning, leaving Fort Lauderdale Stadium behind for another year. At this point, they expect their aging spring training site to look the same when they return next February.

Orioles executive vice president John Angelos said yesterday that while plans continue for the renovation of the 45-year-old, 8,340-seat stadium, it may be unrealistic to expect the project to be ready until spring training 2009.
