A 19-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds who was driven up to the door of an upscale Inner Harbor hotel died Saturday night at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Baltimore police said yesterday.
Police did not release the victim's name because his relatives had not been notified, said Officer Troy Harris, a spokesman for the Police Department.
The 20-year-old driver of a gray Ford minivan pulled up to the valet parking area of the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Light Street after the victim was shot at 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of W. Hamburg Street, more than a dozen blocks south of the hotel.
Police originally reported that the minivan's driver also had been shot. But Harris said yesterday that the driver suffered deep cuts caused by shattered glass from the minivan.
The driver was recuperating at Shock Trauma yesterday but was not cooperating with police, Harris said. Police did not release his name because he is a crime witness.
