Jeweler to design gift for Paula Deen

The Junior League of Hampton Roads has commissioned Annapolis jewelry designer Laura Moore to create a custom necklace for Paula Deen, cookbook author and host of Paula's Home Cooking on the Food Network.

The necklace will be given to Deen in appreciation for her work with the Food Bank of the Virginia Peninsula.

Moore was awarded the assignment by one of her clients in Hampton Roads and through her association with the Junior League.

Porcari to address Signature Breakfast

The BWI Business Partnership will hold its next Signature Breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn BWI Airport, 890 Elkridge Landing Road.

Secretary of Transportation John D. Porcari will talk about the future of Maryland's transportation systems.

The breakfast meeting is free for members and $40 for others. Reservations are required by Monday.

Tech Council plans work force session

The Anne Arundel Tech Council will hold a Technology Workforce Roundtable from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp., 2660 Riva Road, Suite 200 in Annapolis.

The roundtable will focus on K-12 education, recruitment and retention.

Dance sponsored by health network

Baltimore Washington Medical Center will join over 50 hospital and health networks in the national Day of Dance for Cardiovascular Health sponsored by the Spirit of Women Health Network.

The dance will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Anne Arundel Community College, Student Union Dining Hall, 101 College Parkway, Arnold.

Chamber to host Power Breakfast

Freeman joins financial company

William B. Freeman Jr. has joined the Mid-Atlantic Business Finance Co. as vice president of operations.

Freeman will be primarily responsible for underwriting loans for presentation to the company's board of directors and the Small Business Administration.

Freeman previously held positions at the Harbor Bank of Maryland Community Development Corp. and First Union National Bank of Maryland (now Wachovia).

He has a bachelor's degree from Penn State University.

Interior designers joining forces

Karen Renee Interior Design Inc. announced its association with Carol S. Wilson.
