MIAMI -- Ravens coach Brian Billick disputed a report in The Sun that his contract extension is for one year and will pay him about $5.4 million.
Speaking to the team's flagship radio station WBAL last night, Billick addressed the details of the article, saying, "None of it's correct."
According to NFL sources, Billick recently signed an extension through the 2008 season. He was entering the final season of his contract.
Billick wouldn't reveal the length or financial terms of the contract, saying only that it was a "substantial commitment." Asked whether he was signed beyond the 2008 season, Billick said, "Absolutely."
Only two other teams - the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots - don't reveal the length of their coach's contract.
"We don't ever want my contract to be an issue for the organization or the players," Billick said. "It's best for the team for it not to be an issue."
