Wal-Mart Stores says it has applied for a banking license to save on processing fees for consumers using debit and credit cards, regardless of the card's sponsor. An article in Saturday's editions of The Sun said that Wal-Mart was seeking the license so it could offer credit and debit cards; it in fact has offered branded credit cards for years.
An article Thursday incorrectly reported how and when Baltimore City schools restructured low-performing schools. Over the past three years, the city school system has required the entire staff to reapply for their jobs at three schools: Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle, Thurgood Marshall Middle and Calverton Middle. The system has also done partial staff replacements at other schools.
The Sun regrets the errors.
