The fatal shooting of a man Saturday night in Northwest Baltimore remained under investigation by city police yesterday.

The victim, Kevin A. Fowlin, 24, who lived with a relative in the 4100 block of N. Rogers Ave., was found shot in the chest in the 3900 block of W. Rogers Ave. by officers responding to a call about 8 p.m. reporting the shooting, said Officer Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman.

Detective Martin Young said Fowlin worked at a restaurant and had been paid by check shortly before he was shot. Young said it was not known whether Fowlin had cashed his check before he was gunned down. No arrest had been made.

It was the city's 25th homicide this year.
