Reward offered after robbery

Howard County police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who robbed a Chevy Chase Bank on U.S. 40 in Ellicott City -- the county's second bank robbery of the year.

Police do not believe he is the same man responsible for six bank robberies and three attempts in the county last year.

In the most recent incident, a man entered the bank Monday, placed a book bag on the counter and demanded money. He fled on foot.

The man is described as black, in his 20s or 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing between 220 and 300 pounds. He has a mustache and goatee with light growth on his cheeks and was wearing a black Nike hat and black puffy jacket with a fur-lined hood.
