According to early reports, negotiations between the Ravens and Pro Bowl defensive end-outside linebacker Adalius Thomas have not gone well and the two sides are far apart as far as the total value of any package. The Ravens have mentioned the franchise tag to Thomas as a very possible alternative.
Also, despite some reports, Thomas might not draw as much interest as some have indicated if he hits the open market. Thomas has to play for a team with a certain style. He can't put his hand in the dirt and become a full-time defensive end, and he can't play strong-side linebacker full time, taking on tight ends. He has to find the team with the right fit.
