Head-on collision kills both drivers

A woman driving the wrong way on U.S. 29 in Ellicott City was part of a head-on collision yesterday morning that killed her and the driver of the other car.

Howard County police identified the woman driving north in a southbound lane of U.S. 29 near U.S. 40 as Louisa Au, 24, of Severn. Au's Acura collided with a southbound Toyota Corolla driven by Kwang Jun Pak, 45, of Ellicott City.

The 3 a.m. crash closed U.S. 29 to traffic for more than four hours, police said.

Man in stolen car killed in collision

An undentified man was killed yesterday when a stolen car in which he was riding crossed the median on Aris T. Allen Boulevard and struck a Toyota 4Runner, police said.

Officer Kevin Freeman, a police spokesman, said the victim's name was not available. The driver of the stolen car, a Volvo, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center. and the driver of the Toyota was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, Their conditions were not immediately available, Freeman said.
