I don't believe for a second that the Ravens lost Saturday because of all the media-driven hype and the nostalgia concerning the old Colts. That would be a weak excuse.
The players largely ignored it. It meant nothing to them. I talked to enough people in the organization to know they were treating the game as exactly what it was, nothing else.
They lost because of four turnovers and a vanilla offense that didn't take enough chances. They lost because the Colts suddenly have remembered how to play defense. They lost because the Colts have the best clutch kicker in history.
They lost because the Colts beat them at their own game.
Jim Miller, one of the relievers the Orioles acquired from the Rockies for Rodrigo Lopez, needs to stay out of Arizona. Here are his stats from the Arizona Fall League: 1-1, 7.20 ERA. 15 games, 15 innings, 17 hits, 12 earned runs, six walks, eight strikeouts, two hit batters.
Miller will end up in Double-A Bowie or Triple-A Norfolk, depending on how the rosters shake out. I'd imagine that Norfolk will have enough arms that he'll be assigned to the Baysox.
