A 42-year-old Pasadena woman was killed Friday evening when she ran into Annapolis Road and was struck by a car, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

According to police, Mary Denise Weber of the 800 block of Swift Road abruptly tried to cross Annapolis Road just east of McKnew Road in the Gambrills area about 6:15 p.m. and was hit by an eastbound Volvo driven by Randall Kent Sisulak 57, of the 1700 block of Sinclair Lane in Crownsville.

Police said Weber's sister-in-law was following her in a westbound car on Annapolis Road when Weber ran across the street for no apparent reason. Her sister-in-law told police that Weber was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing.
