Sister Julia Ann, 61

Sister Julia Ann Domenico, a nurse who was a member of the Sisters for Christian Community, died of cancer Dec. 28 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She was 61.

Born in Martinsburg, W.Va., she entered the Roman Catholic order of the Franciscan Sisters of Baltimore in 1964 and worked in special education at St. Elizabeth's School on Argonne Drive and the Franciscan Center on Maryland Avenue. She worked with students in arts and crafts and greenhouse plant cultivation.

Later joining the Sisters for Christian Community, she graduated from a practical nursing program at Good Samaritan Hospital and became a registered nurse after training at Union Memorial Hospital.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clare Court Convent, 3725 Ellerslie Ave., where she lived.

Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Domenico of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; six brothers, Camille Domenico of Burlington, N.C., Frank Domenico Jr., Joseph Domenico and Peter Domenico, all of Martinsburg; Anthony Domenico of Prince Frederick and Jerry Domenico of Martinez, Ga.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Pitzer of Martinsburg and Dorothy Hess of Charleston, W.Va.
