COLLEGE PARK -- If the medium is the message, the top-ranked Maryland women's basketball team used yesterday's nationally televised game against No. 19 Michigan State to send a couple of powerful messages to the rest of the field.
The first message the Terps sent out in their 97-57 thrashing of the Spartans was of a team nature, namely, that they are fully prepared to defend their national championship against all comers.
