Fred Weiss writes from Baltimore: "Why doesn't the Sunpaper report degree days on the Weather Page? Degree days are the best measure to compare one year's weather with another." I agree. It's a very useful tool, but one few people understand. "Degree days" are the difference between the day's average temperature and 65 degrees. Added up, they provide a handy gauge of monthly or seasonal demand for heating or cooling. Weather Page space is finite, but we listen. What would you drop to add degree days?
