Police seek suspect in Howard bank robbery

A man wearing a black ski mask jumped over the tellers' counter at the First Mariner Bank branch on Centre Park Drive in Columbia about noon yesterday and stole an undisclosed amount of money before running away, according to Howard County police.

Bank employees ran to the vault for safety after the man, who was alone and believed to be unarmed, entered their side of the counter, said Pfc. Jamie Myers, a Police Department spokesman. The robber took money that was lying outside the tellers' drawers and fled, he said.
